Whitney Benzian practices real estate at Douglas Elliman in Coronado, California, his hometown with The Yost Quesada Team. He brings extensive experience in luxury home sales, land-use, marketing, and community relations to the firm. He started his professional career as the Director of Communications and senior land use advisor for a San Diego City Council President before working at Southwest Strategies, a leading public relations and marketing firm. Most recently he established and operated the California Apartment Association’s San Diego office. Whitney is active in Coronado’s civic affairs. In 2016, he was elected to a volunteer position on the Coronado City Council where his expertise in public and government affairs assists his decision making and service to his community. Prior to being elected to City Council, Whitney served three years as President of the Coronado Historical Association. In this role, along with a former Hotel Del Coronado General Manager, he was a member of the committee that started the Coronado Tourism Improvement District, now known as Discover Coronado. He was also a Director of Coronado First Bank (now CalPrivate), WildCoast, a non-profit coastal conservation organization, and the Coronado Island Film Festival. Through this work, Whitney has developed a deep understanding of the diversity of Coronado’s homeowners along with a substantial network of primary residents, visitors, and secondary residents. His business savvy and marketing acumen combined with his personable approach to real estate make him a valued client advocate and team member. Benzian is a graduate of Coronado High School, Sarah Lawrence College and Pepperdine University (Master of Public Policy).
