Hello everyone! It’s Mary here, and today I’m thrilled to share a very special listing with you—it’s my own house! After a complete overhaul in true R&R Studios fashion, I’m excited to walk you through some of my favorite spaces and the unique design elements we incorporated. Each choice reflects my personal style and vision for creating lively, engaging environments. Let’s explore these features that make this home stand out!
The Heart of the Home: A Dream Kitchen
The kitchen is often the heart of the home, and in this case, it beats in bright turquoise! I’ve always dreamed of having turquoise cabinets, and this vision has come to life here. The color brings a vibrant and joyful energy to the space, perfect for both daily meals and special gatherings. Complementing the bold cabinets, we added open shelving and a custom vent hood, enhancing the kitchen's functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Creating a Focal Point: The Fireplace
Moving to the living room, the fireplace redesign was all about creating a dynamic focal point. I wanted something exciting and fun that wasn’t centered around the TV. To achieve this, we used playful tiling, a custom mantel, and added shiplap to the background. This combination not only elevates the room but also integrates texture and depth, making the fireplace a standout feature that draws everyone’s attention.
Elevating the Primary Bedroom: Board and Batten Wall
In the primary bedroom, my goal was to create a feature wall that would elevate the entire space. The solution was a stylish board and batten wall, which introduces a classic yet contemporary feel to the bedroom. This design choice adds architectural interest and a sense of refined craftsmanship, making the room both cozy and chic.
Adding Fun and Playfulness: The Hot Pink Wall
Finally, let’s talk about the hot pink wall in my daughter’s room. This simple yet bold choice encapsulates the spirit of fun and playfulness I wanted to infuse into her space. While easily coverable for those who might prefer a more subdued palette, this out-of-the-box color can inspire anyone thinking about daring hues to just go for it!
